As bad as 2020 was, we are still wanting to do a 2020 Wedding Recap! This year was a big learning opportunity for us personally & professionally and while we didn’t have as many weddings as we usually do, we loved the ones we were able to celebrate, safely of course!
Favorite Details
This one was easy for us to come up with and we knew it had to be a part of our 2020 Wedding Recap! Sam & Kenny had so many beautifully thought out details that we loved assisting with! From their gorgeous color palette to their custom monogram and cohesive paper goods, there were details everywhere you looked. We loved reliving this Leap Day Wedding with an amazing vendor team!
Pivotal Moment
When the world changed in mid March of this year, we knew our little world of the event industry would change drastically. Nicole & Jeff were planning to get married in July of this year, but when Covid hit, more specifically, hit their immediate families, they wanted to have a wedding that their families could witness in case something made a turn for the worst. We helped pull together an intimate ceremony for them in a matter of days with the most helpful, flexible vendors. It was a reality check for us, and made us realize the new normal of Zoom weddings, intimate weddings, and postponing big weddings. We can’t wait to celebrate again with this couple in 2022!
Safety Protocols
We get the privilege of working at so many different venues, which has its pros and cons. We are constantly having to adapt to rules and regulations, and planning during 2020 was no different. Our first wedding back “since covid started” was a big hotel wedding, with lots of changes in place. The hotel wanted to make sure that all safety measures were taken seriously by vendors and guests, while still allowing guests to enjoy this greenery & gold celebration! Things like rolled flatware and glassware covers made an appearance, and we see these sticking around for a little longer. It makes you approach planning a little differently when you have to think of all aspects of health & safety!
Best Atmosphere
We couldn’t do a 2020 Wedding Recap without talking about the best atmosphere. This wedding was our last before everything changed, and we like to think we went out with a bang! Cypress Grove is one of our favorite outdoor venues, and this early March wedding hosted the absolute perfect weather for this setting! The bride & groom celebrated with a large group of loved ones who danced and partied the night away. This one was special to end on a high note with before our world as we know it soon changed.
This was a small glimpse into our wedding world of 2020. We learned a lot along the way, adapted to any changes necessary and kept safety top of mind for our staff, clients and vendors. Here’s to looking forward at a brighter 2021 with lots of beautiful wedding celebrations, whatever they may look like 🙂
