If you’re still looking for your baker, look no further than our friends at Everything Cake. Her designs are one of a kind and the flavors are delicious. Whether you’re looking for something clean & elegant or decorative & elaborate, she can do it all! We recently caught up with Alejandra, the owner, and can’t wait for you to learn more about her story.
Alejandra got started in the hospitality industry in 2002, working for multiple large hotels in our City Beautiful before finally deciding to take cakes to the next level and started Everything Cake in 2012 to grow her passion. She is also bilingual, which helps her tremendously in her line of work so far!
With a background in hospitality and owning a boutique-style cake company, Alejandra handles every detail from the beginning to delivering your cake. You will work with her every step of the process, starting with the complimentary cake tasting consultation. This is where she gets to meet you, talk about your vision and of course, try the cake & numerous fillings. ProTip: let your baker know if your cake will be indoors or outdoors, as this can effect how they design and make your cake! After your tasting, you will receive a custom proposal and sketch, so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting and what your cake will look like-how cool is that?! “I believe the service that I provide to my clients is very personable and I love the opportunity to get to know them at the cake tasting appointment. I only book a few cakes each week/weekend so that I can give each cake my complete attention and love”, Alejandra says.
Unless you are purchasing cupcakes (yes, she does those too!), you don’t have to worry about a minimum spend with Everything Cake. This is helpful with couples that are just wanting something small for their wedding day or rehearsal dinner or bridal shower. We are seeing a lot of couples opt for a small cutting cake and then cupcakes or additional desserts for their guests.
Speaking of this trend, another trend that Alejandra is loving right now is textured cakes or Lambeth Vintage cakes. These are both so different but beautiful. There are so many ways and materials to texture a cake and the Lambeth was popularized in the 1930s with intricate piping details, like a fluffy ruffled dress.
Lastly, Alejandra with Everything Cake offers some great advice. She says “I highly recommend meeting your baker face to face if possible and getting to know the vendor, their products and all the services that they offer”. We could not agree more with this! Every vendor on your team is important and you want to spend with people you like-and you could keep coming back to this baker for future celebration cakes, too!
