Vendor Spotlight: Sensational Ceremonies – Orlando Officiants
Reverend Glynn Ferguson is the founder of this team of Orlando Officiants. He started out working for another company (that no longer exists). He saw an opportunity to expand beyond Orlando and the need to provide a personalized client experience for couples getting married. There was also the idea to extend extra jobs to local pastors. And so, Sensational Ceremonies was born!
Customer service is incredibly important to this team. You can always expect an (almost) immediate response when calling or emailing. That is very reassuring to couples, especially if they are planning from a distance, like many traveling to Orlando are. If you’re looking for a specific denomination, they have officiants that are Methodist, Baptist, non-denominational and Episcopalian. They even have officiants that speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Even though Sensational Ceremonies began in Orlando, they quickly expanded to Tampa. They realized that expanding was very attainable, and they now have a team of 60 officiants across the country, with nearly 1/3 of them here in Central Florida. Sensational Ceremonies ministers are real ministers (not the internet kind), and they each have a ministry (outside of weddings) that they are involved in as well.
We often have couples wanting to customize their ceremony, making it more personal to their special day. Sensational Ceremonies believes that every couple is unique and every ceremony should be as unique as the couple. Once a couple has chosen this team as their Orlando Officiant, they take their couples through Wedding Words, the ceremony planning kit. This allows couples to pick out their ceremony style, vows, readings, etc. Every Summer this document is reviewed by the entire national team for edits and additions. Reverend Glynn says that “in doing this, we keep our ceremony planning kit fresh and on the cutting-edge.”
When asked advice to give couples looking for an Orlando Officiant, Reverend Glynn said that couples should sit down and meet with the person that is going to marry them. There should be a connection. The officiant should want to make their ceremony personal and engaging for them. He went on “I have couples that I married years ago that follow me on social media, see me in the Disney parks and say ‘Hi’ and send me pictures of their babies, when that day comes. We have more than a contract, we have a connection!”
