Vendor Spotlight: Lee Forrest Design
Lee Forrest Design is a well known Orlando Florist and a staple in our industry. Having been around for years, we fully trust this company with any of our wonderful clients. After catching up with Lee recently, we had to share what we learned about his company!
First, let’s share a little bit of back story. Lee had always dreamed of owning a floral business, and finally realized that he had to quit working for other people to make it happen. Sounds like all of us entrepreneurs, right?! It started out small, designing weddings for friends and family. Word of mouth travels quickly, and before he knew it, Lee Forrest was taking on more and more clients. From having a garage workspace and meeting clients at coffee shops, to having an office with workshop/cooler space, he’s come a long way with lots of hard work in between. Fourteen years later, here they are, successful as ever! Their current design location is just outside of Downtown Orlando, central & convenient.
When asked what couples should expect from him as their Orlando Florist, he said “couples can expect gorgeous florals and impeccable service from beginning to end”. We know this as a fact because we work with them quite often and our clients rave about this team! When looking for a florist, it’s important to not only look for quality and sourcing, but creativity and customer service.
We’re always keeping an eye on wedding trends. Lee’s favorite floral trend right now is using metals and unique materials with modern designs. They are almost known for their somewhat edgy designs, so this is a trend we see them adapting to throughout time! Many brides love trends, but want to keep the design still in a traditional sense for their wedding. This is where the creativity part comes in from the floral designer…will you still love it in 10, 20, 30 years? Speaking of design style, Lee’s is “artsy, combining colors, flowers and materials that you don’t see everyday”, he says. Fear not, though! He can work with traditional to modern and anything in between.
Every type of vendor has their favorite part of their work. For us, it’s seeing all of the endless hours, phone calls and paperwork come together to make something amazing, while seeing our clients truly enjoy their wedding days! “I love the planning process of working with a client, and also seeing their face when I hand her bouquet to her” explains this Orlando Florist. We have witnessed this first hand, and it’s so rewarding to see that client’s eye light up and make comments such as ‘it’s better than I imagined’!
Lastly, when asked the tip for couples looking for a floral designer for their wedding, Lee says “make sure you feel comfortable with their personality and that they can deliver your style”. Often times, especially with floral, couples are only concerned with budget. However, we can attest that personality does make a difference, as it does when hiring any vendor. You want to make sure that they comprehend the look you’re going for, and not just piece together more cost effective stems. “Like anything in life, you get what you pay for”, says Lee.
