Have you been looking for an Orlando Designer, specifically for weddings? If so, look no further than Do Tell Designs! We love working with the talented Margaret, who constantly amazes us on what she can create. We recently took the time to get to know more about her company and how much it has grown over the past few years.
Margaret got started almost by accident. Looking for something to keep busy in between jobs, she took a calligraphy class and friends loved her work! She was hired by sorority sisters and Facebook friends for their wedding paper needs, and it took off from there! “At the time of my business, I was using the play on words of ‘Do Tell’ for a stationery company and thought it was a good fit. I was actually looking through different types of flowers for name inspiration and there is a Do Tell Peony, so that’s where it came to life!”, Margaret says.
Clients can expect a sense of cohesion from start to finish when working with this Orlando Designer. She specializes in “wedding branding” and loves creating things to bring wedding visions to life. “You’ll also get something that is made just for you, so you will have a one of a kind wedding”, says Margaret. What couple doesn’t want that?! She also loves working with people who have out of the box ideas or want something completely created from scratch.
If you haven’t shopped for custom paper goods before, there is a lot to learn. There are design fees and some minimums that may apply, depending on the items being created. The design fee usually still applies no matter what the quantity is. Do Tell’s invitation suites do come in packages, which cover everything you need with assembly. Going with the cohesive look, you will probably want matching signage. These items may have a minimum depending on the time of year, but is easy to meet with all of her pretty items! “I have a pricing guide which is 25 pages long listing everything I’ve ever made”, in case you’re interested 😉
Of course, we asked Margaret her favorite piece to create–invitations! These are the first piece of your wedding that guests will experience, so make it something that they will love and be anxious to see at the actual wedding. Once this Orlando Designer creates your invitations, it’s easy to build from there on all of the other signage or day of paper goods needed. You know that we love to know about trends in different areas of the wedding industry. She notes that Vellum, venue illustrations, and pets are some of the trends she’s seen recently. Not sure about you, but we’re suckers for pet portraits!
Margaret says to reach out to a calligrapher early if you are considering one. As artists, they only take on a certain amount of projects per week, and depending on the season, each week can fill up quickly! “I also think education on pricing is something to be touched on. Since everything I do is hand-lettered, hand-painted and completely custom, my pricing is higher than what wedding websites tell people to budget for”. Don’t worry, she can help with budgeting for invitations/day of goods and where to put your resources!
