We’re featuring one of our friends and preferred vendors, Captured by Elle Photo & Video, this month. We love working with her laid back team (matches our style!), and hope that you consider this Orlando Photographer in your search. We recently caught up with Elle herself, and hope you enjoy getting to know her & her company a bit better!
Everyone’s gotta start somewhere right?! Elle got started in photography in Orlando in 2013 after leaving a corporate job of 7 years. It was meant to be a side hustle while finishing school, but within 3 months of starting, she was booking weddings and the rest is history! She does numerous weddings each year, all across Central Florida, with her portfolio speaking for itself.
One of the most important things we always stress to our couples when they’re searching for their Orlando Photographer is that they actually have to like the personality! You WILL spend more time with your photo & video team on the wedding day than anyone else (your future spouse included!). So, why not actually like being around this person. It helps make you feel more comfortable, which shows in the end photos too! Elle strives for the no awkwardness approach, making couples feel comfortable in their engagement sessions (great warm up!) to the wedding day. “My favorite compliment is always from my grooms who tend to say ‘that wasn’t so bad’ at the end of a session”. This is probably the first time that couples have been in front of a camera in this way before, so don’t really know what to expect, but with Captured by Elle, you don’t have to worry!
You’ll find that every photographer has different types of packages, which always include hours of services, additional sessions or add ons/print outs. It’s important to consider everything that you’ll be needing for your photo needs (make sure to consult your family as well!). Elle’s packages range in price based on demand, but their most popular photography package is currently in the $3700+ range including an engagement session and album while photography & videography combo is an average of $7200+. “Couples that work with Plan It Events do get extra perks though so don’t forget to mention them when inquiring — wink, wink”, she adds!
Photography is more stylistic than trendy, so you’ll find most photographers have their signature looks. However, they capture a lot of content and have seen so many trends! “My favorite wedding trend at the moment is the non-traditional unity ceremony”, Elle says. This can be anything from making your favorite cocktail or shot with custom glasses, or incorporating your favorite snack into your ceremony! The key is to have FUN with your wedding, and personalize it anywhere you can.
Lastly, we asked what advice Captured by Elle would give to couples looking to hire their Orlando Photographer. She mentioned that looking at their past work and full wedding galleries is the first step to determine if their aesthetic is what you’re looking for. From there, you’ll want to research the photographer and team to see if you’d feel comfortable around them all day! “Also, your wedding planner is a great resource since they work closely with all the vendors, so leverage their expertise when seeking out a photographer that best matches your vibe”, she concludes.
