Alyssa & Matt – November 15, 2014 – Winter Park Civic Center
The planning with this awesome couple began in September of 2013. We helped them develop their entire design & color scheme and we came up with well, yes, an ‘Apple Wedding’ with touches of Disney.
Once the design was set and the vendors were chosen, things were really coming together. We were able to focus on the little details and really personalize every aspect of this apple wedding. I really loved working closely with this couple to see their dream wedding vision coming to life. My favorite part of the entire wedding were the personal touches throughout: the social media hashtag signs on each table, the match books {they met on Match.com}, and the tables named after different types of apples.
As guests arrived on this perfect fall November day, they were sat on the lower patio of the Winter Park Civic Center, under the large oak tree, waiting for the ceremony to begin. Apples and baby’s breath were the accenting decor, adding just a simple touch to an already beautiful spot. The ceremony nearly brought tears to my eyes, especially when Matt saw his beautiful bride for the very first time-he couldn’t help but get emotional. After the heartfelt ceremony, performed by one of Matt’s good friends, it was time to start the celebration!
The ballroom was overflowing with apples everywhere! Centerpieces were made from baby’s breath in mason jars and baskets filled with Granny Smith apples. The tables were decorated in navy linens, green charger plates and ivory napkins. My favorite element of the room was the huge monogram projected onto the arched wall. It was truly the focal point of the room! Guests looked as though they were really enjoying themselves throughout the night, loving the photobooth and dancing the entire time. Oh-and let’s talk about the Grand Exit! The couple is very into running marathons, so they exited their reception from a ‘starting line’, running to their getaway car. I loved how this symbolized the start of their marriage, and driving away in a Maserati is definitely a great start, too!
Alyssa & Matt, I can’t thank you enough for letting Plan It be a part of your very special day! I truly enjoyed working with you from the very beginning and your apple wedding was perfect! Best of luck to you both, always. I expect updates on your life together 🙂
