Use Your Wedding Colors to Express Your Personality
Colors can mean so many different things to different people. The way you use different colors throughout your wedding can definitely change the atmosphere and the mood. Have you ever been to a wedding with bright colors? Did it make you want to get up and dance more than the wedding that was all neutral colors? In marketing, specific colors are used to convey certain emotions. Restaurants will use the color red in their branding and advertisements to stimulate appetite. Banks and technology companies use blue in their ads to create a sense of security and trust. But can you use the same psychology with your wedding colors? Photo by Captured By Elle.
Your wedding is meant to be a reflection of who you are as a couple, not a cookie-cutter imprint of what someone else has done. One of the easiest ways to do that is with your wedding colors. Whether it is your flowers, linens, or wedding party attire, colors can be used to not only express your personality.
Red: You are bold, passionate, and a leader! Red weddings are often ultra luxe and daring in design. It can make your guests feel excited and adventurous. A great way to bring red into your wedding is red roses! So classic, beautiful and also very romantic.
Orange: You are boisterous and whimsical. Whether its a bright orange in the summer or a burnt orange in the fall, your guests will be able to see your fun-loving personality come to life through your wedding colors. One downside of orange is that it can be a bit overwhelming. It is great when used as an accent color, bring it into your wedding subtly by adding some orange ranunculus to your bouquet or to your cake like Megan & Milton did in their summer wedding. Yellow: You are joyful and energetic! Often used in outdoor weddings, yellow is a color that wakes you up and makes you happy. Like orange, it can easily be over-done. But when it is done correctly, it is absolutely gorgeous!
Green: You are wise and trustworthy. Green weddings are often nature-driven and simply decorated. Greenery was the Pantone Color of the Year for 2017 and it was so refreshing to see the greenery celebrated as much as the floral. Green weddings are often calm and inviting, your guests will want to stay long into the night and reflect on the beauty of the day and of your love.
Blue: There are so much different shades of blue used for weddings and we love them all! The aqua couple is more extroverted but also, trustworthy and protective. The navy couple is going to be a bit more conservative and introspective. Your guests will feel relaxed and comfortable at your blue wedding!
Purple: You are outgoing, charming, and fearless! As the color of royalty, purple evokes an expensive feel. Your guests are sure to know how important this day is to you by its royal design. Check out Namrata and Prashanth’s royal purple reception! Photo by Amita S Photography.
