Our Wedding Emergency Kit
We get asked all the time what our Wedding Emergency Kit is. The answer is that it’s a life saver! Every Wedding Planner has one, and it’s usually tailored to their clients’ needs. Our (one of many) job(s) on wedding days is to make sure that our clients have the best day ever. However, sometimes there are incidents where something needs to be fixed, snipped, glued or tucked. Fear not! Chances are we have what is needed to save the day! We take a lot of pride in having a solution to every problem that may arise on an already stressful day. Below is a peek inside our beloved kit:
First Aid:
Breaking in new shoes, annoying bug bites or that small headache that just won’t go away? Yes, these are all common issues that we deal with at almost every wedding. The First Aid portion of our Wedding Emergency Kit is definitely one of the most used sections. It’s happened before that the adorable ring bearer or flower girl trips and skins their knee, or someone is just getting over a cold and needs a cough drop to ease their throat before their speech. Any which way, we’ve got you covered!
Quick Fix:
The items in this category are ones that can fix the little issues that come up throughout the day that you might not have thought about throwing into your getting ready bag. We’ve seen food stains, or even wine get spilled on dresses before. We’re quick to grab our shout wipes, and voila, you would never know it was there! Fashion tape and safety pins are always on hand to fix a slight tear, a loose bustle or a broken hem. Guys use our lint rollers the most when wearing dark suits to ensure all pet hair and dander is removed.
Repair:
While we may not be handywomen, we have learned that we can “MacGyver” with the best intentions. Whether we are super gluing a cake topper back together after it was handed to us damaged or zip-tying a floral arrangement to the backup arch when the ceremony was moved due to weather {true story!}, we want to be sure that everything is just as it was planned and imagined since day one. For more tedious things, we have sewing kits, eyeglass repair kits, and enough replacement earring backs for your bridal party.
Beauty:
Our wedding emergency kit is in no shortage of beauty aids, too! While you might think these are basic and you would probably have them on the day of, they can be a life-saver! How about a mint for when you are about to kiss for the first time as a married couple or some hair spray for those pesky fly-aways and frizzies? Cotton swabs are great for minor makeup repairs and nail polish remover comes in handy when you need a quick polish change. Tissues are a big one in this category, and something we always have on hand to pass out to the processional right before the ceremony starts!
Whether the problem is big or small, we hope that we can fix it! Access to our Wedding Emergency Kit is included in all of our services. We carry these items (and more) to and from every single wedding so that we can relieve at least some of the stress from our couples. It may seem excessive at times but we always say it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!
