Tamara & Jon – Novemeber 20, 2019 – The Howey Mansion
We worked with this couple from the beginning for their gorgeous weekday wedding plans! Tammy & Jon were planning a wedding, running their business and building a custom home-oh my! The design for this one was off of a dusty blue and grey color palete, but with added moody jewel tones. It complimented both of their styles perfectly, and we loved how involved they both were throughout the process. We pulled in some of Central Florida’s finest vendors to make this vision become a reality!
November is one of the months known to have some of the best weather in Florida. This day was absolutely perfect-sunshine & cool weather all day long! We arrived to this weekday wedding to oversee an extensive set up, and there were a lot of moving parts going on! After Tammy got dressed in her custom wedding gown, and Jon in his sharp tux, they shared an intimate first look. We knew throughout the planning process that Jon was emotional, and it showed during this moment!
The ceremony took place on the front patio of the historic mansion. A custom wooden arch was decorated in coordinating florals. They had a second copper arch at the entrance of the aisle for a cathedral effect. After a heartfelt & tearful (mostly on Jon’s part) ceremony, guests made their way inside the house for cocktail hour while the newlyweds continued to take photos. Our favorite detail of this space was the giant champagne wall seating chart! Guests could find their seats while sipping on some bubbly.
After some delicious appetizers (including an avocado bar!), guests were invited into the backyard for the reception portion. The sun had set at this point, and the setting looked like a scene in a movie. It was lit with tons of candles and romantic decor. Probably the biggest transformation of this space was the custom pergola to fit around the fountain area. It was decorated as if it had always been in the Mansion, with vines and blooms throughout. Farm tables had soft dusty blue runners to the ground and each place setting had a luxurious velvet napkin and custom dinner menus (that had a drawing of The Howey Mansion on them)! The sweetheart area was a smaller version of the guest tables with dusty blue chairs, fit for royalty. This dinner felt like an intimate gathering at their home, and that is exactly the way the couple wanted it to feel!
After a dual plated meal, toasts were given and the gluter free cake was cut & served. It was now party time! Our favorite parts of this reception were the dances! Tammy & Jon had prepared a special ‘first dance’ that they had been practicing for months, and it went with their fun personalities. Tammy & her girls also had a surprise dance planned (choreographers, rehearsals, costumes-the whole 9!) for the guests. It was similar to this viral wedding performance. Oh, and did we mention that the ceremony space was transformed to a cigar lounge during dinner and there were secret after-dinner cocktails in the basement?!
Tammy & Jon, we loved being a part of the entire planning process for your weekday wedding celebration. It was so fun to design, plan and execute every single detail. It was truly one of our favorite weddings from 2019!
