This week, we’re chatting about different types of Bridal Bouquets. Every bride has her own style, and that includes what flowers she wants to be carrying. Below are a few options we’ve been seeing a lot of recently, some old and some new.
Hand Tied
Probably the most popular bridal bouquet right now. Hand tied means simply that it looks as if it was loosely put together and tied by hand. It’s organic, flowy and often ‘messy’ looking. It can have a wide spanned look or can be more subdued, but either way, it is to look natural and garden-like.
Cascading
This was all the rage a few decades ago and is now making a comeback. A cascading bouquet allows the flowers to be seen more in a dramatic way, while all facing forward in a downward motion. Floral designers have to create these bridal bouquets carefully, as they can be heavier than others.
Round
This look is very classy and traditional. All of the flowers are the same height, creating a sphere shape. We tell brides all the time to not be afraid of color or texture! You are wearing all white or ivory, so your bridal bouquet is the perfect opportunity to introduce your wedding colors!
Mono-type
Do you have a favorite flower? If so, it’s not a bad thing to want that flower to be your entire bouquet. This ‘mono’ look is trendy, yet elegant and timeless. It can be done with sturdy flowers, like the calla lily. We love seeing bold bridal bouquets that make a statement and stand out!
Whichever bridal bouquet you choose, remember to make it your own. We often see brides include family heirlooms, sorority pins or pieces of a garment included on the stems of bouquets. It’s one of the most photographed objects on the wedding day so make sure it suits yours & your wedding’s personality!
