Planning your Ceremony Details? Don’t forget your arch/altar/focal point! The Ceremony Arch is the piece that will be photographed most during your ceremony, so you want to make sure it looks perfect behind you and your sweetheart. There are tons of different options, and you just have to find the one suited for your wedding decor!
Circular
This ceremony arch is probably the most popular trend right now. We love how it resembles the circle or infinity, which is often talked about during your ceremony. We’ve seen them made of wood or metal, skinny or sturdy, covered in flowers or with just a couple of pieces. This is an easy piece that most florists or rental companies can provide for you. Pro Tip: Repurpose your ceremony arch behind your Sweetheart or Cake Table for double-duty decor!
Gazebo
There are a lot of venues here in Central Florida that have a stationary gazebo that can serve as your ceremony ‘arch’. While these are pretty on their own, we often have clients that want to dress it up to enhance it and coordinate with their wedding decor. The number one thing we always offer to do this is the add some soft flowy fabric. This softens the harsh corners of the wood and truly makes a difference. Of course, adding floral to it is a must as well!
Real Arch
This Ceremony Arch is in the actual shape of an arch. Whether that is rounded, pointed or flat at the top, it is still what we have always known as an ‘arch’. This particular example is something unique, with a point. We love the raw wooden element of it, but is softened by the floral accents. Those floral pieces were removed from the arch and placed on the Sweetheart table, which is a great idea if you are not wanting a full structure behind your table.
No Arch, No Problem
Do you have an open ceremony space on a rooftop or in an open field, where there is no structure? No problem, create your own arch or focal point! We love this backdrop that was created from simple screen dividers dressed with greenery and floral. It didn’t take away from the scenery, but enhanced the perfect setting for the couple to say their I Dos!
As you can see, there are plenty of options for your Ceremony Arch, and it doesn’t even have to be an actual arch. There are lots of different shapes (we’ve seen triangles and hexagons used too!) and objects that you can get creative with. Add some beautiful blooms and voila! You’ll have a beautiful focal point to dress up any ceremony space.
