If you know us, you know we like to be real with you and make sure everyone is being realistic from the start. We’re here to tell you 6 tips for how to have the best wedding day. Take it from us-we see a lot of weddings and know what to do and what NOT to do.
Schedule Beauty Timing Accordingly
We never expect our couples to know how long it should take for hair and makeup. To be honest, every artist or company is different, too! We work with you to make sure there is ample time for beauty. If this runs late, the entire day will run late. You want to make sure you have a realistic amount of time to complete the services you’re requesting, even if you have to start at 7am. This will keep everyone relaxed and stress-free, which is perfect in order to keep that glam looking fabulous in photos!
Champagne & Confetti
After the getting ready portion of the day, you’ll most likely take fun, girly photos with your besties. Trust us, this is the only time that you’ll all be together, looking super gorg and be able to toss confetti around while in your PJs drinking mimosas-so document it and have FUN with it!
Unplugged Ceremony
We’ve chatted about it before on here, but this one is a must on the ‘how to have the best wedding day’ list. After all, the ceremony is the sole most important part of the entire day. This is when you’re sharing the intimate moment with your closest family & friends to marry your partner, sharing your vows in front of everyone! You will want to make sure that Aunt Susie isn’t causing a distraction by trying to figure out how to capture “the kiss” for her instagram fam (we’ve seen this happen one too many times!). Leave the capturing to your professional photo & video team, and make sure your guests are in the moment with you!
Private Moment
You may have heard this already, but you will spend more time with your photographer than you will with your spouse on the wedding day. You will also not get any alone time until it’s over. We always try to arrange a private moment for our couples to enjoy some appetizers and champagne and each other’s company, letting the day just sink in. This typically takes place after the ceremony, during cocktail hour, and they always have that “holy crap, we just got married” look on their faces!
Room Reveal
If time allows, we always include this in the timeline and believe it’s a big one for how to have the best wedding day. All of the meticulous planning goes into so many details that you want to be able to revel in and see it all come to fruition. Take a few minutes to walk through your reception and see all of your hard work come to life! If you miss this opportunity, it’s hard to take it all in once there are guests in the space and there are other moments to celebrate.
Element of Surprise
This one friends only adds to the fun, if the budget allows. Consider surprising your guests with spark boxes during your first dance or a confetti drop during your dance party. They will love it and it makes for great photo opportunities!
These are just a few of our favorite tips in order to have the best wedding day. We know that no matter what you include, it’ll be your day and perfect for the two of you!
