If you’re still looking for your perfect wedding photographer, look no further than our friend Johanna Oakes Photography. She is laid back, efficient and likes to have fun on your wedding day! We recently caught up with her and can’t wait to share more about her story.
Never thinking that photography could be a profession, Johanna started taking photos as a hobby of her hometown of Nice, France in 2012 to post on Instagram. There was inspiration all around her in her beautiful country, and so she bought her first camera and continued taking photos of family and scenery. She came to Orlando in 2014 to work for the Disney International program and was placed as a waitress in France at Epcot, and her camera was never far away. Johanna married her husband Jack in 2015 and had her daughter Elena in 2017. She was constantly taking photos of her daughter, and starting photography gigs here and there and photographing friends to build up her portfolio. This eventually led to her being a full time photographer soon after the pandemic hit and the rest is history!When working with Johanna Oakes Photography, you can expect to be working with a friend. This is one of the reasons why we love working with her! It’s easy and fun and laid back, as we believe weddings should be. “Our couples can also expect a fast turn-around time because I truly believe NO couple should wait 3-6 months to get their photos back”, Johanna says. Photography packages range from about $3300-6400, depending on the number of hours, bonuses and albums included. Her most popular package is around $4800, which is a great value! She has also worked with us before to tailored special collections for our couples if they are wanting multi-day coverage or particular inclusions.

This allows couples to truly see how the wedding day works with her team and how they capture all of those special moments. It’s hard to do, but her team makes it work and it’s so important for couples to understand all that goes into their special day from their photography team!
Lastly, the best advice that Johanna offers her couples is to not be afraid to ask questions about the most important day of your life! Some popular ones she suggests asking are about turn around time, if they are insured, how they make sure photos are stored safely and if you will see a sneak peek (& when). “You’ll also want to ask for full wedding galleries!”, she adds. This allows the couple to see a real complete wedding day, and not just a highlight of what they put on social media, which can be a photoshoot or their curated Instagram feeds.
