If you’re looking for a baker to provide sweets for any occasion, look no further than our friends at Le Petit Sweet! They can design and create almost anything and are constantly coming up with tasty flavors to provide their customers. We recently caught up with their owner Brittany to learn more about their story!
Brittany went to art school in New York before moving to Miami and working for a large catering company and her own cake company. Her and her husband fell in love with the beautiful little town of Mount Dora, and decided to make the move up to Central Florida. She knew she wanted to base her company on smaller, bite-sized desserts, and named her company Le Petit Sweet after her husband’s French Canadian background. They have a brick and mortar location in Downtown Mount Dora that they operate out of by appointment only.
When working with this small but mighty team, you can expect responsiveness and attention to detail. We love how quickly they respond to emails when we need to coordinate details with them. They pride themselves on focusing on flavor and aesthetics of every single cake and dessert that goes out. Their work speaks for itself when it comes to executing what the client is wanting. They use real ingredients and all of their cakes have Italian meringue buttercream, yum!
If you have done any research on wedding bakers at this point, you will see that the prices that Le Petit Sweet has are comparable. They do require a minimum of $5 per slice or 2 dozen for desserts. “Most couples should expect to spend $6-10 per serving for their dream cake”, says Brittany. We love seeing them on preferred lists at so many venues we work at or included in venue’s packages too. This makes for one less decision that the couple has to make, and they have great options to work with!
Le Petit Sweet bakes a lot of cakes, so they see so many different designs and trends. Their favorite trend right now is utilizing color. This could be done in a palette or with buttercream floral, if you’re wanting to keep the majority of the cake a more neutral color. “This can really add a personal touch and bring your cake to life”, Brittany said.
Lastly, this Orlando Baker offers some great advice to couples looking to find their dream dessert company to work with. They say to do your research and go to multiple tastings because not every baker can fit your vision or style. There are some that don’t have flavors you love or can’t execute the design you’re wanting. They are always happy to refer others too if a couple is not going to be a good fit. They fully adopt the “community over competition” motto, which we love!
