Emily & Thomas Ganey (The Ganeys) are a true class act! A fantastic husband & wife photography team that documents the magic of true love so well. This lovely couple met back in college, and bonded over their love of travel. Their photography company was born in 2012, and started shooting weddings in 2013. They got married on a rainy (remember, it’s good luck!) Florida day in 2016. Ever since then, they have evolved as a company and a couple and we’ve loved watching them grow! From leaving corporate jobs to leaving the state of Florida, they have been through it all together and are ready to conquer the West Coast (and the world!)
Couples sometimes ask us the style and personality of photographers we recommend. We can let you know that The Ganeys truly strive to be friends with our couples, personalities being very important. We can vouch for the fact that you spend more time with your photographer(s) than anyone on your wedding day, so you have to get along with them! “Being friends and feeling comfortable with us on your wedding day is so important. This is one of the reasons we require an engagement shoot – even if that means us hopping on a plane to your hometown to meet you before the big day”, says Emily.
They take a different approach to their services, which makes them stand 
out amongst other photographers. Having multiple packages can be overwhelming for brides & grooms shopping around. “We like to offer everything right off the bat, with no unexpected surprises when you realize you may need more time as your wedding day approaches. We offer full day wedding coverage because we want to tell your full story”. This might not be the best fit for every couple, but we appreciate knowing there are no hours limitations when building our timelines with They Ganeys.
We think every wedding vendor has a favorite part of the wedding day, depending on their service. For The Ganeys, they love capturing the bride & groom portraits the most! “We love having that time alone with the couple. The joy is so real! The couple is radiating with anticipation, excitement and that feeling of ‘we did it!'”.
You know we always talk trends with our vendor friends. The Ganeys’ favorite ‘trend’ really isn’t a trend. Film photography, which is what they shoot most with, is making a comeback. “We’ve been doing it for a while, so I would like to think we were ahead of the curve on this one. It forces us to slow down and be intentional with every image we capture. You can’t simply look at the back of your camera to see if the image looks okay”.
Lastly, the one tip they had to share with couples was to not be afraid to ask photographers to see a full wedding gallery. It’s a plus if they send you galleries they’ve shot at your venue before!
