If you’re looking for a modern & unique wedding venue in the heart of Winter Park, then look no further than the Winter Park Events Center! We love their picturesque landscape and working with their helpful & diligent team. We recently caught up with their coordinator, Joel, to learn more about the space and what it can offer you!
The venue was built in 2021 and was designed by Sir David Adjaye, but was built as the replacement of the longstanding Civic Center, which served the community for nearly three decades. This new building not only serves as a hub for its community, but is also recognized as an architectural masterpiece that is perfect for any wedding.
“As the events coordinator for the venue, my responsibility is to meticulously synchronize all aspects involving the venue and invested parties, ensuring seamless coordination among all moving parts, guaranteeing a flawless execution of the event”, says Joel. Their facility rental includes tables and luxurious chairs that go with any design. The on site suites give wedding parties plenty of room to congregate between photos or waiting to walk down the aisle. You are able to rent the full building on weekends for up to 8 hours for larger events, and a la carte options for weekdays and smaller events. The transparent pricing showcases sales taxes and their refundable incidental deposit. We agree that it’s a straight forward pricing structure and inclusions are clearly spelled out.
As a wedding venue, the Winter Park Events Center sees a lot of different weddings. However, their overall favorite trends leans on the side of personalizing the event to the couple’s needs and simplifying decor. We are seeing so many couples opt to not have a wedding cake and add on desserts with the caterer instead. At this venue in particular, a lot of couples choose to enhance the architectural beauty of the space by having minimal decor and floral. “It can create a clean and modern aesthetic while still being elegant and beautiful”, Joel adds.
Lastly, the advice Joel offers when searching for your wedding venue is to have a clear vision. “A venue that aligns with the couple’s aesthetic can simplify decor decisions and enhance cost efficiency. While some venues have a distinct overall look and feel, others, like ours, offer a more neutral backdrop that is complimented by stunning architecture”, he says. He also ensures that the couple should feel like they personally align with each of their vendors because the energy invested will impact the event’s success. “Couples deserve to feel genuine interest and excitement from all involved parties, ensuring a truly memorable and joyful celebration of their big day”, and we couldn’t agree more!
